It’s not only our spaces that are designed and our objects, but essentially it’s our time. 24h Parties, non-stop restaurants, stand-by, Red-Bull & espresso, burn-out, and snooze. During Dutch Design Week 2014 the students of the Dirty Art Department in Amsterdam present 'Non Stop Plaza', at the invitation of De Fabriek in Eindhoven. Together with Parking Club, a designer and artist duo, they will produce a 24h project, exploring the notions of productivity as well as the limits between reality and fiction in a radical workshop mixing life, work, production, boredom, sleep etc. at De Fabriek.
The Dirty Art Department is the master program of Applied Arts at the Sandberg Instituut Amsterdam. It offers itself as an open space for all possible thought, creation and action. It sees itself as dynamic paradox, flowing between the pure and the applied, the existential and the deterministic, and the holy and the profane. The Dirty Art Department is open to students from all backgrounds, including designers, artists, bankers, skeptics, optimists, economists, philosophers, sociologists, independent thinkers, poets, urban planners, farmers, anarchists and the curious.
